Steps to Become a Franchisee Step 1: Complete our online Request for Information Form. Once your application has been received, our Sales Department will contact you within (3) business days. Please be sure to fill out the form as completely as possible. This does not obligate you to purchase a Mr. Pickle’s franchise; it is the first easy step for additional information. Step 2: Once your Request for Information has been received,when the Sales Rep. from Mr. Pickle’s Inc. (MPI) contacts you, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the qualifications, available locations, and what it takes to be the successful owner of a Mr. Pickle’s franchise. If you have further interest we will schedule a time to meet and give you a copy of our Uniform Franchise Disclosure Document (UFDD). The UFDD contains information about the Franchise Offering and Agreement terms. Step 3: When you receive the UFDD you will sign a receipt page, this begins a mandatory fourteen day (14) wait period before the actual Franchise Agreement can be signed. This does not obligate you to purchase a Mr. Pickle’s franchise. During this time, if you would like to move forward, we will require that you submit; a completed franchise application, a copy of your driver’s license, signed credit check authorization form, signed background check release, submit current financial statements and bank statements to verify funds. We will also work with you to create a business plan. We recommend that during this fourteen (14) day wait period you perform your due diligence, consult with your accountant, talk with legal counsel, visit other Mr. Pickle’s locations, and make sure this is a good fit for you! Step 4: Once the application process is completed and you are approved, you can sign the Franchise Agreement. At the time of signing you will pay us a non-refundable $25,000, which is a portion of the Franchise Fee. Step 5: Together we will review information covering site selection in your targeted area, preliminary site information and ultimately assist you in selecting the right location. We will also assist you in preparing your Letter of Intent (LOI) for your approved location. Step 6: We are available to assist in your lease negotiations, but cannot guarantee the suitability of any store site. The final lease for the store site with the landlord will be executed by you. A Real Estate attorney should be consulted. Step 7: Once the lease is approved, tenant improvements will be completed by Mr. Pickle’s Inc. You will be responsible for all permit fees, insurance, security deposit, setting up accounts with our approved vendors and initial inventory purchase. Step 8: Training will begin one week before your scheduled opening at our training store located in Auburn, CA or in another specified location. Two weeks additional training will occur on-site, at your location. We will assist in employee hiring and training of your start up staff as well. Once you have passed your training certification you will be in the driver’s seat of your Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop franchise!

Frequently Asked Questions
Is previous food or restaurant experience necessary to obtain a Mr. Pickle's franchise?
Restaurant experience is always helpful but, if you have experience running another type of business including working with employees and customers, managing cash and generating financial statements, we have a complete training program and manuals as well as field operational staff that can help you learn this business as well as provide ongoing support for you. SBA funding may require some restaurant experience, please consult your SBA lender.
Is there a cost for the training program or ongoing support?
The cost of the training is included in your franchise fee, which includes training and support at your location for the Grand Opening. Travel, lodging, and food costs, are the responsibility of the individual franchisee. Mr. Pickle’s Inc. does provide ongoing training and support.
How much is a turn-key development package and franchise fee?
Our turn-key development packages costs are between $99,000 - $199,000. Mr. Pickle's Inc. price varies by location. Our franchise fee is $50,000.
What does a "turn-key package" mean?
It means we will (a) complete the build-out and/or remodeling of the Unit premises consistent with Mr. Pickle's standards; (b) purchase and install required equipment, furnishings, fixtures, signs and décor as required by Mr. Pickle's Inc; (c) prepare the Unit to open for business as required by System Standards in our manuals; and (d) provide initial training as detailed in the UFDD.
Am I protected from other Mr. Pickle's stores opening near my store?
We have a 0 to 1 mile protected area ratio, which will be determined and documented when signing the Franchise Agreement.
How is a region defined in an Area Developer Agreement?
We will define it by geographical boundaries established by Mr. Pickle’s Inc. Area Developer Agreement.
How long is the Franchise Agreement, and is it renewable?
The Franchise Agreement term is for ten years and can be renewed. Refer to UFDD for more information.
How much is the royalty payment and how is it collected?
There is a flat fee of $250.00 per week drafted directly from your account.
What are the advertising fees?
You will pay $200 a month to your regional cooperative comprised of elected franchisees in your region. You will also pay $200 a month towards a marketing fund that advertises on a national level and is directed by Mr. Pickles Inc.
How much will it cost to open a store?
The total initial estimated investment to open a Mr. Pickle's varies with location and size. Please see refer to UFDD.
Who can I call to discuss a business loan?
You are welcome to visit any financial institution. We are Small Business Association approved which helps expedite the loan process. We work with numerous lending institutions. We are happy to refer you.
Is in-house financing available?
In-house financing is available to qualified buyers. Some criteria for in-house financing is 50% down, 680 credit score, own your home and management experience. Other criteria apply, consult MPI for further details.
